Beauty All Around

New Earth Beckons (5)

All of our activity on Earth is supported by Earth’s beneficence.  And it is the Sun which makes life on Earth possible.  We are inherently connected with Earth and Sun.

Amid busyness and preocccupations, how often do most individuals remember this relationship?

When we shift into a wide view, we consistently feel our fortunate positioning — connected with Earth and in alignment with the Sun’s energy.

Intentionally and naturally attuned to Mother Nature’s world, we readily experience beauty all around us whether subtle — as in a wildflower-filled meadow — or phenomenal, as in unique vistas or geological formations.  Mother Nature consistently provides beauty — everywhere.

As Summer approaches, the birds begin singing at around 3:00 AM — well before sunrise.  Present for sunrise each morning, I observe the sky and the nearby maples.

Pausing throughout the day to observe trees and sky and sun, I see that the view consistently changes.  The tree limbs are dancing, or the wind is calm.  The Sun is visible fully, somewhat — or not at all.

Through the window above my desk, the summer-green leaves on the nearby tree are now sun-sparkled in the early afternoon light and the sky is fully blue.  In a few hours, within this same view, the Sun will be visible.  Choosing to meet the Sun at this moment, however, I see the Sun high in the sky at the windows which face the southwest.

There is a rhythm to every day which may be felt — whether indoors or out — if one is positioned to pay attention and to receive the gifts of Mother Nature’s world. Beauty is everywhere around us.

To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour.
— William Blake
